More Information
Path and walkway projects range from a simple stepping stone path through a lawn to a formal block-paved walkway connecting different parts of a larger garden. M&S Landscaping handles both ends of the spectrum and everything in between. We consider the flow of movement through your outdoor space, the materials that will work with your existing surfaces, and the practical requirements like drainage and edging to create a path that is as functional as it is attractive.
The material you choose for a path sets the tone for the whole garden. Natural stone slabs give a classic, traditional feel. Block paving in a contrasting colour to the main patio or driveway can define the path clearly. Gravel with edging is cost-effective and drains well. Stepping stones through a lawn are popular for linking a patio to a rear gate or outbuilding. M&S Landscaping advises on the best material for your Burgess Hill garden based on use, style, and budget.
A path that rocks, sinks, or becomes slippery in wet weather is a trip hazard. We prepare the ground properly for every path project, laying a solid sub-base before the surface material. Edging restraints keep the material in place and define the path cleanly. Joints are finished to prevent weed growth. The result is a path that looks good, stays level, and is safe to use year-round across Mid Sussex gardens.

We built a block-paved side access path for a property in Westmeston where the homeowners needed a safe, all-weather route from the front gate to the rear garden. The existing ground was bare compacted earth that became muddy and slippery in winter. We excavated, laid a firm sub-base, and installed a block paved path with a drainage channel at the lower end. The customer was able to use the side access safely all through winter.
STILL NOT SURE?
It depends on your garden style and how the path will be used. Natural stone gives a traditional look, block paving is very durable, and gravel with edging is cost-effective and drains well. M&S Landscaping will help you choose the right material for your specific garden during your free quote.
Simple paths can often be completed in a day. More formal walkways or longer runs with drainage and edging may take two to three days. We will give you a clear timeline during your free quote visit.
